Samsung Releases a 32GB Flash Hard Drive Replacement

For the last year, I’ve been watching the capacities increase and the price drop on the current flash drive technology. As someone who has lost several hard drives over the years, I see this as the next big step in computer reliability. Both Fans and Hard Drives wear out, but with a Flash drive there are no moving parts to fail. Not to mention the power requirements are much lower as well.

I noticed on Slashdot that Samsung has announced a 32 Gigabyte Flash Drive. This is the first step toward full hard drive replacements. The next few years will be interesting as the prices drop and the capacity increases.
